Advance Design of Reinforced Concrete Elements



pi-DESIGN is a software package for advanced design of reinforced concrete elements(columns, beams, slabs), subject to axial forces (N) and axial or biaxial (Mx and My) bending moments according to ECS (EUROCODES).

BENEFITS of pi-DESIGN

pi-DESIGN is a tool designed for engineers in order to calculate the As of reinforcement by putting in the intensive values (Moments, axials, shear) of single concrete elements (slabs, columns, beams). It can also can be used to do the opposite.

Engineers and students can use it for various reasons as described:

  • To check the results of their hand calculations,
  • To design single structural members quickly
  • To compare two solutions on site

The term ''advanced'' is used because all calculations are presented with great detail and the results are of very high accuracy due to the algorithm that we use. The software also creates the diagrams in 2D and 3D.

The term ''advanced'' is used to differentiate pi-DESIGN from similar software packages and with emphasis on the calculation capabilities.

pi-DESIGN features :

  • Columns of sections:
    • Rectangular
    • Gamma
    • Z-type
    • T-type
    • Circular
    • Quadrilateral Π-type.

  • Concrete and distributed reinforcement, under uniaxial and biaxial bending.

  • Beams of sections: Rectangular, floor girder and I-type with tensile and compressive reinforcement bars.

  • Slabs with single and double reinforcement

    Material supported with pi-DESIGN:
    • Concrete grades from C12 up to C90
    • All steel grades

  • Parametric Features :
    • Generalized integral length stress-strain curve for concrete
    • Bilinear stress-strain diagram for steel
